[It had been sometime since the event that last shook that town, but surely not that long ago as the memories were very fresh in her mind. Memories that were just as fresh in everyone else's minds, as well.

For a moment, she stares out her window.]

...It looks like another good morning for a walk. Then again, in Mayfield it seems it is usually the same weather every day.

Miss Olivier, might you be free today for a small get-together? It would be prudent to take advantage of the good weather, after all.

[For anyone else who may want to meet her outside she will be later out near her house because staying indoors all day long isn't an option when there's more drones in her house. She can barely stand them.]

My kind is weak to sunlight.

...and I can imagine you know about receiving things in the mail, yes? Then you can understand what was returned to me recently.

Do you happen to be a vampire?

Either way, it is unfortunate you have such a burden returned to you.

Crimson Noble. I suppose you could call us distant cousins to vampires, but we only share a small number of traits. Either way, I dislike the term "vampire" when applied to my kind.

...Yes. It certainly makes it a challenge to do anything during the day.

I don't believe I have heard of your kind before.

I suppose it makes Mayfield less bearable than it already is.

We're not from Earth, so you probably would not have.

Mm...the town's alright enough if I look past all of the negative aspects. I suppose you could say it offers a new perspective on how people live when placed in situations like this.

Don't get me wrong, of course, I still intend to find a way back to my home world.

Date: 2010-07-16 02:46 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] supremejudge.livejournal.com
Where are you from, then, if I may ask?

There are so many negative aspects to look past that it would be better not to try to do so. A new perspective on how people live in a deplorable situation after being taken en-masse, unwillingly.

I would be surprised if there was anyone who would wanted to truly stay here.

I'm from a world called Filgaia, though of an earlier time than anyone you may have also met that is also from that world.

Well, certainly, at the very least it's a new perspective on how to live as a human, given that's what this town made me while I am here. I'm not particularly a stranger to deplorable situations, though, in any case.

I'd imagine there may be at least one or two people that would prefer this over their home world, but it would require polling everyone to find out. Even then, of course, opinions and feelings change over time, naturally.

You are the first person I have met from that world.

...How long have you been in this town?

For the moment maybe they may prefer this place, but as you say, opinions and feelings change over time. Eventually, the true nature of Mayfield will probably get them to change their preference.

Then I suppose you know now, in advance, when you meet the others. If you meet them, anyways.

A little over a month, almost two by the end of this month. Being no stranger to deplorable situations isn't simply limited to this town, you know.

Perhaps.

From: [identity profile] supremejudge.livejournal.com
That's good to know.

I have only been here a week or so. Of course, one may face such many deplorable situations in life. This town is only one large and elaborate one.

From: [identity profile] noblecrimson.livejournal.com
A week? Really? Then you saw what the town became, the previous week, then.

Yes, that's true.

...Forgive me, I seem to have failed to introduce myself. I am Marivel Armitage, the master of Crimson Castle in Filgaia.

And experienced it, unfortunately.

As have I. My name is Shikieiki Yamaxandu, although the latter part is my title. I am the supreme judge of hell, for Gensokyo.

It is a pleasure to meet you, although I would have wished it was on better circumstances.

Date: 2010-07-16 04:16 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] noblecrimson.livejournal.com
It was rather unfortunate.

A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Shikieiki. I can't say I've met a judge of hell before, to be honest. I suppose it's for the best, of course.

Under better circumstances, I believe we would both be back home.

You will meet one again after you die. Many would think the same.

[A small mistake here and for that, a wry smile.]

Yes, we would, wouldn't we?

Date: 2010-07-16 04:49 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] noblecrimson.livejournal.com
I don't think a great majority of people would like to meet a judge of hell.

But then, back in my world, I imagine a great majority of people wouldn't wish to meet a Crimson Noble, either, if they knew one.

All the same, we've met now, haven't we?

[This is the start of a glorious tl;dr friendship isn't it.]

From: [identity profile] supremejudge.livejournal.com
It would most likely mean they have bad karma. At least if they meet one such as I before their death.

I can think of many reasons why, even if I do not know much about your kind.

Yes we have.

[Quite possibly so.]

From: [identity profile] noblecrimson.livejournal.com
[They'll sit around and go on for paragraphs about things while everyone falls asleep from boredom.]

Yes, that's true, admittedly. Those who haven't bad karma more than likely wouldn't be meeting you.

...It's not like there's a reason for them to fear us. We stay out of their business, after all. All the better if they stay out of ours.

So where are you staying?

Date: 2010-07-16 05:50 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] supremejudge.livejournal.com
[That would be very entertaining to watch, for some reason.]

There seem to be many people in Gensokyo with bad karma, regrettably.

People in history tend to fear that which they do not know, or that of which is simply different from them. Even if whatever they fear is not a threat to their existence.

5721 Cunningham Lane.

From: [identity profile] noblecrimson.livejournal.com
[It would, wouldn't it.]

Oh? Really? That's rather unfortunate. I wonder why they do?

...Hm. [And here's the part where she can't admit there aren't any other Crimson Nobles left other than herself.] Still, we were there long before they were, on Filgaia. The least they could do is respect us.

949 Beulah Street.

At times I wonder why too. Perhaps, though, it is the way of how things have become in the land over time I presume. Regardless, it is regrettable.

Perhaps it is also their arrogance which blinds them.

From: [identity profile] noblecrimson.livejournal.com
Certainly, sometimes I wish I could put them in their place, but I suppose that would mean breaking neutrality, for the most part.

Perhaps the only way some will see the error of their ways is by experiencing the consequences of their actions -- those that occur during their life and those in their afterlife.

I suppose.

So, enjoying the weather?

[Because she totally would if she hadn't regained her aversion to sunlight.]

It is a nice thing to wake up to, even if it is such a trivial thing.

Better than the weather around where I live, anyways.
